ABOUT ME
I wanted to be a magician. Then, I developed a real interest in science and my focus changed to become a physician. I chose medicine over other sciences because I could really see its impact around me. I grew up in Port Harcourt City, Nigeria where there was a lack of access to medicine.
In addition, I desperately want to empower people, young women especially, by doing the little things: paying attention to them, letting them know that they can be whomever they decide to be, giving them tools to help them become that “whomever”, and teaching them to pass that on to other young women. The best way I know to do this is to be an example by working to beat the odds of becoming an international, female Medical Doctor. Investigation, detail orientation, my love of science, academic capability, and desire to be a pillar of society–one that people in the community can come to for help– are the main reasons why I want to be a medical doctor. My path to a medical career started with majoring in Biology at Florida International University. Four years later and I have done research, shadowed, worked, and aligned myself towards being a global citizen. I don't only want to make a difference in my local community but in our global community.
